De PADI Emergency First Response (EFR) cursus Dit is een praktische training in eerste hulp en reanimatie, ontworpen om deelnemers de kennis en het zelfvertrouwen te geven om te reageren op medische noodsituaties.
De cursus behandelt de volgende onderwerpen: Eerstelijnszorg (reanimatie) En Tweede hulp (EHBO), met een training gericht op het herkennen van noodsituaties, het verlenen van onmiddellijke hulp en het ondersteunen van een gewonde of zieke persoon totdat professionele medische hulp arriveert.
EFR-training is waardevol voor zowel duikers als niet-duikers en is met name nuttig voor iedereen die van plan is zijn of haar duikopleiding voort te zetten. PADI Rescue Diver-cursus.
1. Primary Care – CPR
Learn how to respond to life-threatening emergencies and provide immediate assistance, including:
- CPR procedures
- Responding to a person who is not breathing
- Responding to cardiac emergencies
- Managing serious bleeding
- Recognizing and responding to shock
- Basic emergency response procedures
2. Secondary Care – First Aid
Learn how to provide first aid when an emergency is not immediately life-threatening or when professional medical assistance may be delayed.
Training includes:
- Assessing injuries and illnesses
- Treating wounds
- Bandaging and dressing
- Basic splinting techniques
- Providing appropriate first-aid assistance
3. Emergency Response Skills
The course focuses on practical skills and building confidence so participants can respond appropriately during an emergency while waiting for professional medical assistance.
The course may combine:
- Instructor-led training
- Practical exercises

- Quick-reference materials
- PADI eLearning, where applicable
The PADI EFR Course is generally open to anyone and does not require previous diving certification.
It is particularly useful for divers because current EFR Primary Care and Secondary Care training can fulfill the CPR and first-aid requirements for the PADI Rescue Diver Course, subject to the applicable certification requirements.
